BASIC recognized across 7 categories for this years OMMA awards.

We're proud to announce our work has been nominated for the third consecutive year at the 14th annual OMMA Awards

We’re proud to announce our work with Heath Ceramics, Nerd skincare, our podcast Brandbeats, and the Basic Culture Manual are finalists across 7 categories for the 14th annual OMMA awards.

This is Basic’s third consecutive year as finalists. The OMMA awards agencies and advertisers that push the potential of digital advertising. They honor premiere talent in two distinct categories, the OMMA award, and the Members’ choice award.

Heath Ceramics

Nominated for: House/Home Campaign, UX/UI

Over the last year we teamed up with Heath ceramics to build an eCommerce platform that highlights the brand’s handcrafted story and unique vision of the Heath brand. The new site includes a heritage inspired design language emphasizing elevated content, and streamlined typography, carrying the Heath story throughout. To drive the eCommerce platform we completely re-thought categorization and the user journey. Through a modular framework rooted in efficiency, content can now be managed with ease. New pages and templates can be simply dragged and dropped through a customized CMS.


Nominated for: Music/Sound effects, B2B Campaigns, B2B Websites

Brandbeats is our creative podcast and website dedicated to views on design, technology, art, and culture. The site provides background information and show notes around the conversation in each episode, as well as a set of features around the podcast, like saving where in the episode a user was last listening, to the browser or listening device. Listens have increased by over 50,000 globally, with playlist downloads on itunes, Spotify, and Soundcloud at over 150,000.

Nerd Skincare

Nominated for: Fashion/Beauty/Cosmetic Website, Retail Websites

Basic teamed up with the Nerd team to give the skincare company a strong brand personality, with a fun, quirky website highlighting the benefits of the products. Bold graphics and pastel colors give voice to a millennial audience, as does the comedic 5-minute video ad on the site poking fun at adult acne while touting the benefits and science behind Nerd Skincare. Interactive motion graphics bring attention to the products while descriptions and FAQ stay devoted to busting skin care myths through education and support.

BASIC Culture Manual

Nominated for: B2B Campaigns

We are a branding and design agency that makes, in our CEO’s words, “dope s**t people love.” But to prove it to ourselves and potential clients, we created our own Culture Manual. The idea was to maintain our edge while creating a traditional employee handbook for the digital age, presented in a simple straightforward way. “Be professional” sounds basic, but helps relate in a cool way: pull your weight, kill your ego, and help one another.
