Stratos Card Partners with BASIC to Drive Brand Strategy for Launch


We partnered with the team at Stratos to establish an aligned brand communications strategy across brand naming, visual strategy and brand messaging for the launch of their first official product, the Stratos Card.


At the start of last year, we partnered with the team at Stratos to establish an aligned brand communications strategy across brand naming, visual strategy and brand messaging for the launch of their first official product, the Stratos Card. 


Streamlining Communication for the Everyday User

Our partnership with Stratos was organic from the start; a small team of creatives, engineers and software developers who were on a mission to set the industry standard - to improve every kind of transaction. Their first initiative for the company was a connected card platform with an all-in-one product that bridged the gap between physical and digital payment methods. Our goal was to streamline all communication efforts between Stratos and their core user and position Stratos as a premier leader in a new and emerging market.


Collaborative Ideas Lead to Better Solutions

After a week-long interactive workshop with the Stratos team, held at the BASIC office, we delivered a series of discovery documents that would be used as a reference for all of our brand communication strategies in the future. From our discovery session, we were able to distill several technical product features into a framework that educates the user on the Stratos Connected Card Platform through a simple and conversational manner. This workshop also helped us identify other competitors attempting to disrupt the marketplace. With this in mind, we positioned Stratos as a premium all-in-one, connected card platform that provides users with convenience, security and insights that help make a difference in our day-to-day lives. Our group findings also enabled us to create key product features that would enhance the user experience and bring context to conversation when talking about the product.


​Creating the Framework for Launch

By understanding the product, the market, and it’s core user, we were able to develop a brand strategy that identified key archetypes, pricing strategy, brand positioning, messaging strategy and key product features. From there, we were able to work closely with the Stratos team to explore brand naming and visual strategy for their launch of the Protean Card.
