BASIC Recognized with 7 Webby Awards Across 5 Categories

We’re excited to announce that 7 of our most recent projects have been selected as some of the best in the industry across 5 different categories by IADAS for the 20th Webby Awards.

The New York Times has hailed the Webby Awards as the "Internet's highest honor", with over 13,000 entries in this year's competition. The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award winners, is comprised of web industry experts, including Tumblr founder, David Karp, Grantland's Bill Simmons, Lucky Magazine's Editor-in-chief, Eva Chen, Instagram co-founder, Kevin Systrom, mobile phone inventor Martin Cooper, and and creator of the .gif file format, Steve Wilhite.

The Webby Awards presents two honors in every category — The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award. Members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) select the Nominees for both awards in each category, as well as the Winners of The Webby Awards.  In the spirit of the open Web, The Webby People’s Voice is awarded by the voting public. Each year, The Webby People’s Voice Awards garners millions of votes from all over the world.

Shortly after BASIC CEO and ECD, Matt Faulk, was recently appointed IADAS judge for 20th Webby Anniversary, BASIC received news that 7 of our most recent projects have been selected as some of the best in the industry across 5 different categories. Our work with, which was just awarded as 2015 AWWWARDS eCommerce Site of the Year, has been nominated as a Webby Award finalist within best practices and eCommerce categories - voting is open to the public until April 21st.

BB Dakota, Mobile: Best User Experience & Web: Shopping

BB Dakota, came to us to help them better tell their story through a new flagship eCommerce experience that was focused on bringing content and commerce together. We helped elevate their brand to the digital space by providing creative direction, art direction and photography and video direction. The new BB Dakota eCommerce platform streamlines the purchase decision process by providing the user with a highly contextualized shopping experience from beginning to end. The site delivers a rich, immersive experience through big imagery, high-quality branded video content, and deeper brand storytelling through collection pages and an online journal.
