BASIC Recognized for 4th Consecutive Year at 22nd Webby Awards

We’re proud to announce our work has been considered ‘the best of the internet’ with nominations across 5 categories including 2 honoree nods.

For our 4th consecutive year, we’re honored to be part of the Internet's best at the 22nd Webby Awards. The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet for the past two decades. It’s considered “The Internet’s Highest Honor” by the New York Times and “The Oscars” of our industry by many. Last year, nearly 3 million votes were cast from over 230 countries and territories.

Each year, the Webby Awards presents two distinct honors in every category – The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award. Each Webby Award is selected by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) which consists of a 2,000+ member judging body. The Webby People’s Voice Award is awarded by the voting public. Both awards are coveted international distinctions of Internet excellence.

BASIC Culture Manual

Awarded for: Websites – Best Visual Design - Aesthetic

With plans for expansion, we’ve created the BASIC Culture Manual which acts as an expression of our brand, a guide for our way of doing things, as well as a tool for recruiting and onboarding new employees. The new site provides a closer look at our agency – what connects us, what excites us, and ultimately what best represents our culture. We’ve included in-depth details of the key values that drive our agency forward, as well as a background on our team members, fun facts about our agency, and a new culture reel that surfaces our collective vision. Awarded for: Mobile Sites & Apps – Best Practices

NERD is a company known for using science to create formulas that harness the power of your body to get rid of acne. As their new strategic partner, we were asked to create a new brand identity, messaging platform, and eCommerce experience that would help humanize NERD’s complex and scientific approach to skincare, while uncovering new opportunities and brand value for their business. The result was a new brand and digital strategy that put the consumer first. Throughout the new eCommerce site, we helped elevate NERD’s new design language and brand personality, while defining new key moments within the customer experience that would simplify as well as surprise and delight.  View the live site.

Chrome Industries

Awarded for: Websites – Best Shopping, Best Practices

The launch of the new Chrome Industries eCommerce platform includes a simplified shopping experience that provides added utility to users. We designed and developed a series of discovery tools by providing intention based filtering that allows users to quickly discover new products based on their needs. We removed the obtrusiveness of the ‘Quick Shop’ lightbox and replaced it with a simple three-step purchase option that’s useful across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. BASIC Brandbeats

Awarded for: Websites – Corporate Communications

Over the past year, we’ve launched our creative podcast series, Brandbeats. Our agency podcast features curated tunes and industry views around the design industry. We created the platform to spark conversation with students, peers, and other like-minded creatives. Each playlist features ten tracks, including one 30 minute thought leadership discussion. Our conversations are a candid exploration of design topics, branding trends, and experiences, we’ve noticed happening in today’s culture. View the live site.

BB Dakota

Awarded for: Mobile Sites & Apps – Best Shopping, Best User Interface (Honoree)

BB Dakota loves clothes and the women who wear its clothes even more. Above anything else, this had to shine through our strategy and design. Based on BB Dakota’s philosophy that “glamour is looking exquisite and not giving a fuck,” we partnered with the soon-to-be fashion leaders to create a flagship eCommerce site that connects content, brand, and commerce.
